Laura Marker studied fine art at Wimbledon College of Art (MA 2012) and primarily works as a projection-based installation and digital collage artist. She is heavily influenced by concepts relating to the passage of time, visual “truth” and illusion and past events or social injustices that still hold relevance today. Her work makes reference to historical developments in photography, science fiction imagery, historical scientific documentation and the development of new technologies, in particular lens based technologies (magnifying lenses, projections, cameras).
