The Mediums Glasses I & II - Photographs printed onto old pairs of glasses using traditional darkroom techniques
I was inspired to produce a series of works based on nineteenth century occult and pseudo-scientific documentary photography. During the nineteenth century it was believed that camera technology could capture the spirit world and photographs appearing to show ghosts and a range of occult phenomena were often used as "evidence" for a world that lay beyond what we could see.

Public Space - Private Women (2016) projection based installation
.
Public Space - Private Women is a projection based installation artwork, created in collaboration with artist , specifically for the Edwardian Ladies Cloakroom Space, Bristol.
We worked closely with the unique architecture of this grade I listed space, creating an installation that investigated the public and private lives of ordinary Edwardian women.
We were particulalrly drawn to this location, as public toilets are unusual in that they act as a private/public space.
The more widespread provision of women's public toilets during the Edwardian era showed an increased assumption that women would be out and about in the public sphere. Increased public facilities for women can be seen as marking a change infreedoms and aspirations for Edwardian women, an era that despite many restrictions, saw an opening of opportunities within educational, leisure and professional arenas.
